Planned Hospitalisation
Planned hospitalisation refers to a treatment or elective medical procedure that is scheduled ahead of time. It is a non-emergency procedure that provides you time to be prepared. You can receive treatment at a network hospital using a cashless facility.
To claim for a planned hospitalisation, you typically need prior authorisation from your insurance company. This allows the insurer time to do an initial claim assessment and facilitate cashless treatment.
Inform your insurer 48 to 24 hours in advance of your planned hospitalisation. Contact your hospital’s insurance desk to submit the claim form and other necessary documents for pre-authorisation. Once the insurer pre-approves your claim, you are admitted to the hospital, and the approved treatment begins.
